What happens when athleisure meets the world of beauty? A new category of products, specially made to withstand the sweat and strain of physical activity, explodes. Dubbed "active cosmetics" by industry insiders, established brands like Tarte and Clinique have jumped in with gym-bag ready products. Newer lines by startups like Sweat Cosmetics are formulated with sweat resistance and other high performance properties built-in. "Exercising has become a more social activity," explains Euromonitor analyst Hannah Symmons. Point is that people dressing in Lululemon and Nike, and taking classes at Soul Cycle won't mind spending more money to look good in that post-workout selfie, explains Business of Fashion.
